WAKE UP FROM YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP

Two mountains. One in the shade, the other in.the sun.
Summer memories!

Snow White by Thomas Kinkade (a short blurb about his life, below)
Could not tell if it was the original painting or a print

Looking at my little children in bed, sleeping so peacefully,
was years ago one of my favorite moments of the day.
Sleep is restful and peaceful.
It becomes a problem
when “sleeping” has become a life style.
Avoiding anything that might disturb your rest. Avoiding anything
that might upset you, or ruffle your feathers.
Still after Covid, some have
managed to stay in their rosy fairy tale world.
It becomes dangerous when there are riots around you,
and leaders are exposed for mismanagement, tyranny, etc.

ARISE AND SHINE, dear sleeper! Your fairy tale has long been over.

Arise and shine and Go –
go – go anywhere you fancy
Get ACTIVE to let your voice with the Good News be heard.
It may be on the school board, boy scouts, anywhere they
need to hear your reminders for truth, integrity, and
encouragement to build, and hold on to God’s principles of love
and not what He thinks is evil, allowing to overrun us.
Do it NOW, this opportunity may disappear
in the future for the ones who love God.

To bloom, bloom, to your heart’s and fullest content,
deal with any fear you have about the future.
ANY FEAR … HOW?
When you stay under the shadow of the most high God
you are hidden in his strength
he is the hope and stronghold to shelter me, and my
great confidence. He will rescue from
any trap of the enemy
and protect you from false accusation and any deadly curse.
When we live in his shadow, our secret hiding place,
you will always be shielded from harm.
How then could evil prevail us, or disease infect us?
Even in a time of disaster, with thousands and thousands being killed,
you will remain unscathed and unharmed. You will be a spectator
as the wicked perish in judgement. If you walk into a trap,
angels will be there for you
and keep you from stumbling…

Parts of Psalm 91, Passion Translation
Talking about slaying the dragons – covid and the rest – in my mind …
immediately and effectively.
Don’t need to fear the pandemic, fake news, antifa, etc.
Not for nothing is the
Word of God called a sword to fight with!

A make-believe pout – shouldn’t I get a bigger piece than she?
Weekly smile: pout; PhotoAWeek – attitude

My usual strategy to see things in perspective are
journaling and knitting, crocheting, etc.:)
One Word Sunday: Reverse side (a pillow cover)

Wordless Wednesday, Sky Watch

Since I heard the news of what is happening in Afghanistan as we speak, I pray for the 10-15.ooo American and Afghan people (who worked for the Americans) being trapped there, that God will intervene and send some angels on their behalf to rescue them.

  1. Many many years ago on one of the many visits to Monterey, California I stumbled upon a Thomas Kincaid museum. First time I heard of him but I was enchanted and enamored by his paintings. And I promised to save money to eventually go back to the museum and purchase one of his dreamy paintings, but before I could save enough money, the market even became oversaturated with his paintings and prints. And somehow I got disenchanted.

  2. I liked Kincaid’s idea of getting the message of God out in the world through his paintings, but I didn’t really care for his style, and after he’d saturated the market with his art it just became common. I have a throw by Thomas Kincaid with the quote, ” The Lord is my Light” .

We use it everyday as a table topper in He-Man’s office. 😀

  3. Don’t know … was that his purpose? Yes, it’s his style that I don’t like either – too sweet and a fata morgana (too much of a fairy tale).

    1. Thank you Riitta! Have you noticed … bloggers who have kids (and grand kids) seem to notice these little cute things kids do or don’t do, that others overlook?

  4. Thank you Keith! The texts of many of my posts more recently are much more on the serious side – It’s a reaction to the words of war (mostly political) being thrown back and forth about nefarious and ludicrous things happening here in the USA. Some, like you appreciate it, and others throw me off their Linky, lol.

  5. The scenes out of Afganistan is heartbreaking. MSF are still on the ground there and there are some groups organising planes and evqacuations. Any donations to those people will do some good, if only for some. That’s all we can do at the moment. #DND

I am so thankful that God enabled our scientists to develop a safe and effective vaccine so quickly!!

    1. Thank you Teresa:) The two mountains are on our trip between Los Angeles and Sacramento that we used to make regularly for the holidays (when living in L.A.). It’s a treacherous mountainous passage of getting stalled by overheating one’s” car, and in winter surprise snowy conditions, but extremely beautiful. That cover took some tries – too difficult of a pattern, wrong yarn before, so am happy I’m almost finished!.

  7. Hello,
Pretty shot of the mountain and I like seeing the geese resting in a pretty spot. The kiddie photo is adorable, the pout reminds me of my son in his younger days. Beautiful sky capture. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a great week! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment too.

  9. It is important to look around us and find things that are crucial to our well-being and mental stability, Jesh. It is those things that anchor our hearts and minds to love and sanity, they are what make us strong as rocks onto which our loved ones can hold for safety.
Thanks for taking part in the “My Sunday Best” meme.
